Does my title say chicken fried bacon? Indeed it does! Why? Well, this past weekend, Hailey and I made the trek to Dallas, TX, to go to the Texas State Fair with her family. It was awesome, and it was so big! Getting to go with the Goffinet family was a great time. They love food, and they love to eat all the different foods around the fair. It's their tradition, and an awesome tradition at that! To begin the day, they have to get a Fletcher's Corny Dog. It was probably the best corn dog ever! After that, we walked around to see what we could see and eat tasty fried foods along the way. In summary, I had a corn dog, fudge, fried pickles, a country fried steak slider, nachos, and my favorite food of the day, chicken fried bacon! We also played some games, saw a sculpture make entirely out of butter, and walked through a car show. It was great and I'm ready for next year.
Now for some artwork. The next project I'm going to post is another one I did for Graphic Design I. The task at hand was to create an ad for an item using visual metaphor/analogy. We had to create new connections between images, words, or both. We were split into three groups and then we were given an object to do our individual ads over. My group's item was dryer sheets and this was the ad I came up with.

In doing some research, I found out that dryer sheets can be used for many different things. They can be used as insect repellant, car fresheners, and even to clean things like sinks and bathtubs. I decided to use the cleaning aspect of dryer sheets for my ad. My class discussed a few ideas that might improve my work, but I think it turned out pretty good. Eventually, I'll make adjustments to the ad and maybe I'll put it in my portfolio or something.

Chicken friend bacon? If you can't spell fried, you should never be allowed to eat anything fried again. Also, I liked my idea for the dryer sheet thing better.
i was tired. i messed up. what else is new? Your idea was good, but i just felt like it was too similar to another one someone was doing. You know this.
Glad my daughter was there to pat you on the back as usual!!! Sorry...I don't know where that sarcasm comes from. Next year I promise to be more energetic, and, of course, to eat more fried stuff.
P.S. Cool project!! I'll have to try the dryer sheet cleaning.
Hey, I wouldn't mind trying some chicken fried bacon and, what is a country fried steak "slider"? I would probably pass on the pickle.
I'm glad you had a good time at the fair.
I used to use Bounce a long, long time ago. Maybe we should start buying them again. Hmmmmmmmmm.......
glad you had fun even though Amanda, without asking, dug into your nachos!
I like your ad Joe. Clean and simple. I used to run a dryer sheet over my head to get rid of the static. I'll send you a picture if you want to use that next time.
Haha. I would definitely like a picture Amanda. I'll make a special edition Amanda version of the ad. It will be great.
Joe, this is Aunt Jan. Love the dryer sheet ad. Couldn't live without mine to clean. They are better than scrubbers when trying to get dried bugs off of windshields (and even the painted surfaces of the car). We wet our RV windshield down and wipe away with the dryer sheet--bugs fall off like magic. Try it.
Interesting. I will have to try that.
